DAPA: Indonesia Is Late Again In Paying Instalments For KF-21 Boramae Development Costs
The Indonesian Ministry of Defense (DAPA) has revealed that Indonesia is once again behind schedule in making payments for installments related to the development costs of the KF-21 Boramae, the South Korean-made jet fighter planned for acquisition by the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU).
As per the contract signed by both countries, Indonesia is obligated to make regular payments towards the development costs of the KF-21 Boramae.
However, DAPA stated that Indonesia has fallen behind in meeting its financial obligations, causing concern among the South Korean defense industry.
This is not the first time Indonesia has faced delays in paying development costs.
The country had previously defaulted on its payments, resulting in strained relations between the two nations.
South Korea had expressed its disappointment and urged Indonesia to fulfill its financial commitments.
Indonesia's delay in paying the installments for the KF-21 Boramae raises concerns about the future of the project.
There are fears that further delays could jeopardize the delivery schedule of the jet fighters to the Indonesian Air Force.
The KF-21 Boramae is a critical element of Indonesia's efforts to modernize and strengthen its air defense capabilities.
The delay in payments hampers Indonesia's ambitions to upgrade its fighter jet fleet and maintain a strong defense posture.
Both countries are expected to address this issue promptly, ensuring the payment schedule is met and the KF-21 Boramae project stays on track.
